Alterra Mountain Company rolls out more resorts onto Mi9 Retail software platform

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 14, 2024 — Mi9 Retail, a leading provider of retail software solutions, is delighted to showcase its dedication to innovation and customer service by successfully implementing our retail platform at additional Alterra Mountain Company resorts, a leading name in the world of year-round mountain destinations. Alterra is now live on Mi9 Platform (for its retail business) at six of their resorts with the remainder slated for 2025.  Each resort features a number of retail locations (stores and warehouses), all powered by the Mi9 cloud-based software suite.

Alterra, known for its commitment to providing exceptional outdoor experiences, sought to enhance its retail operations across multiple facets as well as to centralize systems across all their resorts.  This initiative covers Merchandise Management, Store Operations, Sales Audit, Warehouse Management System (WMS), Point of Sale (POS), and Retail Analytics.  After an extensive evaluation of potential partners in the industry, Alterra chose Mi9 Retail for their comprehensive and integrated retail solution.  Mi9 Retail’s understanding of Alterra requirements played an important role in making this decision.

Subsequently, both companies engaged on a challenging implementation quest to centralize retail operations by implementing a single Mi9 software platform for all resorts.  The first resort went live on Mi9 less than 10 months after signing the contract.  Following a busy winter season, Alterra resumed the migration of resorts from various stand-alone systems to Mi9.

The implementation of Mi9 Retail software platform signifies a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing umbrella efforts to streamline operations, improve customer experiences, and optimize inventory management.  It also supports the vision of expanding the business by relying on the unified platform across all resorts.

Key Project Highlights:

Merchandise Management: Mi9 Merchant enables resorts to gain better control over their product assortments, pricing strategies, and inventory management.  This will result in improved stock accuracy and a more efficient supply chain across 10+ resorts and 140+ retail locations.

Store Operations: Mi9 Merchant Store Portal and mobile app empowers retail staff with intuitive and user-friendly tools to manage store inventory.  With enhanced visibility into real-time data, store associates can make informed decisions and improve customer service.

Warehouse Management System (WMS): Mi9 Merchant WMS brings precision and efficiency to Alterra Mountain warehouse operations, which also include automated store replenishment.  It optimizes order fulfillment processes, reduces picking errors, and improves inventory accuracy, ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and on time.

Point of Sale (POS): Mi9 POS enables seamless transactions and enhanced customer experiences at the retail locations.  With features such as mobile checkout and an integrated loyalty program, customers can enjoy a frictionless shopping experience.
